A golf and ski invitational
Skier Ike Smith lined up his appeal on the 9th and final hole. His ball sat precariously on his tee, a 12-ounce can of Bolt from the blue Top Belgian White. By that time, Smith had a commanding lead on the back nine of Pow Gloves' first annual Parksy and Slush Invitational, which took pad Wednesday at Mount Hood, Ore. The event would showcase the finest duathletes and gentlemen in a ski/golf paradigm. Snowboarders Eric Willet, Patrick McCarthy, Austin Hironaka, and Austen Sweetin signed up to struggle.
While the Resort at the Mountain's 9-hole Thistle line hosted the back nine, skiers and snowboarders played the front nine in Timberline's Patrons Park. Holes one through eight asked riders to discombobulate a discard a 180, 360, 540 and 720 both clockwise and counterclockwise off of jumps. The last tight spot of the front nine was to complete a 900. Each attempt counted as a gesture, and every hole was a par 4.
