G. Chambers Williams III: Versa surprises with spaciousness
The redesigned 2012 Nissan Versa subcompact sedan is definitely a surprise, not only because of its price, but also its size.
There is room for up to five people in the new sedan, as well as oodles of cargo. Interior volume is 90 cubic feet, and the chest is quite spacious for this class at 14.8 cubic feet.
Still the lowest-priced new car on purchase in the United States, with a starting price of $10,990 (plus $760 freightage), the new Versa also is the roomiest car in its class, with more rear legroom than — get this — the Lexus LS 460, Mercedes-Benz E arrange and BMW 5-series large sedans.
Probably even more high-level, though — since people shopping the Versa aren't appropriate to look at those high-dollar cars — the 2012 Versa sedan has considerably more Nautical stern legroom than the redesigned 2012 Ford Focus, which is in a larger prestige, compact sedans.
In fact, the Focus has the same commuter volume — 90 cubic feet — but only 12 cubic feet of torso space, for a total interior of 102 cubic feet.
