Latest Honda CR-Z Mugen concept is rated RR
I'd like to have a small fun while saving the planet--I'm sure that we all would--but this wave of hotted-up hybrids has me scratching my noodle. Some, like the Prius Plus Performance Pack , appear to use the term "performance" a bit too liberally for my tastes Still others, like the Mugen CR-Z , seem to add a chic pedigree to what was previously just sporty pretense. Erection on the later of those concepts, Honda has just pulled the wraps off of an even more rigid variant of its sporty hybrid at the Goodwood Holy day of Speed in the United Kingdom: the Honda CR-Z Mugen RR concept.
The CR-Z Mugen RR features wildly forceful exterior styling with integrated carbon fiber components including a new gaping maw of a front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, and strong rear wing. The extra wide front fenders look like they've been yanked fix off the wide-bodied Subaru WRX and terminate abruptly behind the 18-inch hyper-flagitious wheels. Finally, the Double-R has been slathered in a unusually sherbet-y shade of orange paint that is matched by an equally orange veiled.
