Man arrested in connection with teen death
The Old Bill say the driver who left a dying teenager in a stolen car at a downtown gas location also had another stolen car and two stolen guns.
Around 8 p.m. on April 15, Cecil L. Smith III drove Anthony Moore in a stolen 2009 Honda Accord from the appear of a shooting at Ninth Street and Shorb Avenue NW to the BP position at 1200 Market Ave. N, investigators say.
Smith got out of the stolen car as 17-year-old Moore lay expiring inside it, told the clerk to call 911 and then fled, according to policemen. Smith took with him a stolen gun from inside the Accord, the heat said.
Moore was pronounced dead at Aultman Sanitarium the next day.
His shooter has not been arrested.
Smith, 18, of 2304 21st St. NE, was arrested at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday at the administer department on seven felony charges: Obstructing right, evidence tampering, carrying concealed weapons and two counts each of receiving stolen resources and having weapons under disability, jail records said.
